Our History

The Coalition of Culturally Competent Providers (CCCP) was founded in 2014 in Philadelphia with a shared commitment among local service providers to ensure that organizations serving communities of color had a unified voice in shaping policy, practice, and funding priorities.

Over time, providers across Philadelphia and the surrounding region identified a gap in representation. Despite their deep community ties and dedication to delivering quality services, many agencies lacked influence in crucial decision-making spaces. This gap prevented culturally responsive providers, especially those serving communities of color, from influencing systems that reflected the lived experiences of their clients.

CCCP was established to address this challenge. Our mission has been clear: to advocate for equitable access to services, strengthen the operational capacity of community-based organizations, and ensure that the provider workforce reflects the cultural and linguistic diversity of the communities they serve.

Today, our coalition unites providers of intellectual disability services, behavioral health care, and other human services who share a deep commitment to equity as an essential principle. We are dedicated to building sustainable organizations, promoting culturally competent care, and amplifying the voices of those historically excluded from decision-making. From our grassroots beginnings to a recognized regional advocate, CCCP remains committed to advancing equity, dignity, and opportunity for all.
